Baptism in Caherline & Caherconlish Parish
Please allow at least six weeks’ notice when requesting a Baptism, so there is sufficient time to confirm the arrangements and complete the preparation process.

As our priests have a wide range of parish and community commitments, keeping to the scheduled Baptism times allows them to fulfil their other ministry duties.
Both documents are available to download from this page or from the sacristan/team in either church.
The Parish Baptismal team is a trained group of local lay people who work alongside the priests, parents and parish community to support families thoughout the preparation process. Baptism Team email baptismteam@ccpp.ie
As part of the preparation for your child’s Baptism, parents or guardians are required to attend a Baptism Preparation Meeting. Godparents and other family members are also welcome to attend. Meetings are held by appointment on the first Tuesday of each month at 7.30 pm in Caherconlish Church. Each meeting is led by the Parish Baptism Team and lasts approximately one hour. Preparation Meetings are conducted in accordance with the parish safeguarding policies, helping to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for children and families.
To attend a Baptism Preparation Meeting and request a proposed date for your child’s Baptism, please complete a baptismal request form and return it to the sacristy in either church for the attention of the Parish Baptism Team, together with a copy of your child’s State Birth Certificate. Parents’ names on the baptismal form must match those shown on the State Birth Certificate. Once these documents have been received, the team can begin arranging a date and time for the Baptism.
A member of the Baptismal Team will contact you when they have confirmed with the priest your requested date and time. If your preferred date or time is unavailable, the team will offer an alternative.
If you live outside Caherconlish and Caherline Parish and wish to have your child baptised here, please contact the priest in your local parish and request a letter of referral to this parish.
